چکیده

Abstract. This study investigates the link between interplanetary magnetic field (IMF) By component and noctilucent clouds (NLCs) measured by Cloud Imaging Particle Size (CIPS) experiment onboard Aeronomy of Ice in Mesosphere (AIM) satellite. The mean ice particle radius NLCs is found to be positively correlated with IMF Southern Hemisphere (SH) negatively Northern (NH), respectively, on a day-to-day timescale most 20 summer seasons during 2007–2017 period near 0 d lag time, response SH stronger than that NH. Moreover, albedo, water content frequency occurrence present positive correlation but no significant superposed epoch analysis (SEA) further indicates rm average changes about 0.73 nm after reversals, which at 90 % confidence level Monte Carlo sensitivity tests. Our results suggest an By-driven pathway: influence solar wind polar ionospheric electric potential affects nucleation processes consequently NLC brightness.

The dayside ultraviolet aurora and convection responses to a southward turning of the interplanetary magnetic field

We examine the large-scale ultraviolet aurora and convection responses to a series of flux transfer events that immediately followed a sharp and isolated southward turning of the IMF. During the interval of interest, SuperDARN was monitoring the plasma convection in the dayside northern ionosphere, while the VIS Earth Camera and the Far Ultraviolet Imager (UVI) were monitoring the northern hemi...

Noctilucent clouds and the mesospheric water vapour

The topic of this paper is the expected (from modelling) and observed sensitivity of the brightness β of noctilucent clouds (NLC) on the ambient water vapour mixing ratio f (H 2 O). Firstly, we show that state-of-the-art models of NLC layer formation predict that in the Arctic summer, a 10% increase of f (H 2 O) in the upper mesosphere should 5 lead to a 22% increase in β. Secondly, we review o...

Responses of alfalfa influenced by magnetic field and rhizobial inoculant

Plants are generally subjected to a combination of different conditions such as magnetic field and soil bacteria in their life. The present investigation tried to compare the effects and interactions of magnetic field and rhizobial inoculant in alfalfa. A pot experiment was performed under a natural condition by a factorial design to ...

Interplanetary Magnetic Field Structures out of the Ecliptic

New observations of the out-of-the ecliptic trajectories of type III solar radio bursts have been obtained from simultaneous direction finding measurements on two independent satellite experiments, IMP-6 with spin plane in the ecliptic, and RAE-2 with spin plane normal to the ecliptic. Burst exciter trajectories were observed which originated at the active region and then crossed the ecliptic p...
